1199SEIU members, elected officials, former patients and community activists gathered at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center (SVCMC) in New York City’s Greenwich Village on April 7 for a rally to keep emergency medical services at the historic Manhattan hospital. The rally followed an announcement by the SVCMC board that it had voted to cease all inpatient services at the financially ailing hospital.
